MUC1 is a highly glycosylated protein expressed by the MUC1 gene (glycosylation greater than 50%, molecular weight greater than 200*103), also known as a membrane protein, is a transmembrane molecule. It plays an important role in epithelial renewal and differentiation, maintaining epithelial integrity, and the occurrence and metastasis of cancer. Due to its abnormal expression in tumor tissues, MUC1 has become an important biological marker for cancer. MUC1 is widely distributed and abnormally expressed on the surface of cancer cells, with incomplete glycosylation, exposing hidden epitopes under normal conditions, making it a target for immune cell attack.
