IL13R (Interleukin-13 Receptor) genes encode receptors for the cytokine IL-13, mainly IL13Rα1 and IL13Rα2 subunits, widely expressed on immune cells and some tumor cells. IL13R is a transmembrane protein that binds IL-13 to activate downstream signaling pathways regulating immune responses and inflammation. Notably, IL13Rα2 lacks complete signaling ability but is overexpressed in cancers such as glioma and colon cancer, playing a tumor-promoting role.
