DDR1 (Discoidin Domain Receptor 1) is a gene encoding a receptor tyrosine kinase mainly expressed in various cell types, especially epithelial and some tumor cells. DDR1 is a unique collagen-sensing receptor that binds to collagen via its extracellular discoidin domain, mediating cell-extracellular matrix interactions. DDR1 is often overexpressed in tumor cells and is closely associated with tumor progression, invasion, and metastasis. Therefore, DDR1 is an ideal target for anti-cancer drug design, particularly for targeted inhibitors and antibody drug development.
