Species Reactivity

Human

Clone

REGN5054

Source/Isotype

hIgG4 (S228P), Kappa

Application

Flow Cytometry

Target

Detects CD8A

Gene

CD8A

Other Names

CD8, CD8alpha, IMD116, Leu2, p32

Gene ID

926 (Human)

Background

D8β, together with CD8α, forms the CD8 receptor on the T cell surface. It mainly enhances TCR signaling by binding to peptide antigens presented by MHC I, thereby increasing CTL cytotoxicity against target cells. At the gene level, CD8A and CD8B encode CD8α and CD8β, and their expression is influenced by development, activation, and the microenvironment, with important implications for tumor immune surveillance, chronic infection, and immune exhaustion-related diseases. Anti-CD8 antibodies are widely used for flow cytometry to characterize CD8+ T cell subsets and exhaustion/activation phenotypes, for immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence to assess tumor infiltration and spatial distribution, and for evaluating immunotherapies and studying function in animal models.

Storage

Store at 2-8℃ short term (1-2 weeks).Store at ≤ -20℃ long term. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw.

Formulation

Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2-7.4.

Endotoxin

< 1 EU/mg, determined by LAL gel clotting assay
